Dreamwriterpoet is my penname for writing. Come and be inspired with the reflection of your heart and mind.
My heart and mind are open to new opportunities and welcome a challenge. In life we don't always feel we "NEED" life experiences such as new opportunities, love, whatever. We cheat ourselves in accepting what we have regardless of level of content and happiness. It is a quality that I pass along through my poetry and inspiration. I am truly down to earth with a large amount of strength from overcoming obstacles and squashing it with magnitude and resilience.
To achieve any dreams, inner ambitions, and to stay young it’s vital to illustrate that the circumstances of now, will only result in tomorrow's results, by coping and empowering yourself today! It is the here and now that matters; the future is paved only by our own actions to achieve goals and push forward to accomplish and prosper. There will be obstacles, but the methods used to overcome the obstacles marks the will and dedication one has to find the greatest emotion life has to offer; happiness. After all everything life is a challenge; so continue to find your best self and good luck! We must believe in supporting each other’s dreams, it will help achieve our own.

Truffles 'N' Bacon Antiques At The Market

2014 Food Review
Springtime is nearly among this desert city with an abundance of places to go visit this season for families and hobbyists alike. If you unfamiliar with the Vegas cultural scene – believe me it’s worth a look to experience all the festivities that are just beginning this year most especially new restaurants like Truffle N Bacon. One of the America’s greatest pastimes is antique shopping for collectibles and furniture. Let me bring you into the kitchen of Truffles N Bacon located in the Antiques at the Market.
The owner Magnolia is personable and hospitable engaging customers with eclectic tastes, and affordable fare. A self-starter entrepreneur with self-taught culinary skills sparking ambitions to innovate her culinary masterpieces away from her East Coast roots! She imbues pride, courage, and dedication as a rising star for her kids, and grand kids to look up to. “Partly my eagerness to move to Las Vegas was to be a part of my
grand children’s lives. When searching for the right place; I had specific requirements that would exude my personality and talents for generations to remember. A restaurant space attracting artsy cultural folks with desires and appreciation for homemade recipes and good shopping located away from the hussle-bussle of The Strip.” She shared with me – a dream turned into reality.
I ordered the Monte Cristco sandwich filled with layers of goodness and a side of homemade strawberry jam. The platter is served with a side of arugula greens, and choice of fries or Yukon TNB chips. My friend asked for a sample of the corned beef, oddly never trying it, Magnolia was successfully encouraging to order The Reuben once the sample was brought. Signature sauces and the highest quality ingredients are used on the sandwiches and available for purchase.
The color and robust flavors of the food reminded me of fine dining while sitting in a casual restaurant setting with painted blue walls, and combination booth and chairs appropriately
fitted to the table.
Other eye-catching, salivating menu items guaranteed to catch attention are "Not Your Mama's Grilled Cheese" with a generous portion of short rib, bacon jam, cheese and broccoli rabe.
The signature burger with mac n cheese, bacon jam, siracha ketchup on brioche bun with fries seasoned in truffle oil. Don’t miss the signature citrus iced tea – trade secret brew served with a mint leaf and lemon. A sweet for my sweet homemade desserts; scones or sandwich cookies filled with cream and dipped in candy chocolate.
Truffles N Bacon and Antiques at the Market, come together promoting each other and welcoming repeat customers. Should you find yourself lost looking for the Antique at the Market, the garage doors enclosing the building probably haven’t been opened yet.
Both operations are open 10:00am - 5:00pm.
Thank you, Magnolia for sharing your food and a piece of your story with me. A perfect afternoon filled with lunch and antique shopping.

INNOVATION AND BUSINESS

2012 Foodie Review Food and culture, often inseparable, evoke vivid memories of your upbringing, steeped in the culture, travels or influences of people you have known. Food in and of itself can be a great source of comfort, both calming and relaxing. In savoring different flavors of the world your travels can be endless and exciting, limited only by your sense of adventure. For me, with an Israeli background, I take pride in tasting foods from that region, compromised of Israel, Lebanon, and other Arabic countries. The herbs and spices from this region come from the ancient history of the countries themselves. The principal factor being availability of foods at that time, as well the often noted medical science journals noting the medicinal properties, the foods have as well as creating healthy low fat diets. The popularity of this cuisine has transcended worldwide, with each owner providing a different flare for flavor and style. But with an abundance of restaurants that all sound alike which one is worthy of your taste buds? I can qualify, the food does not all taste alike everywhere. Today is just another cold day in Colorado, and I am so hungry walking around the South Glenn Outdoor Mall, located in Centennial, in Arapahoe County of Denver. Certainly, as I stroll along trying to nurse a craving for the taste of my culture, I was hesitant to experiment. However, as a foodie, and a writer, if something really tempts my pallet, I will gladly embark on a new culinary adventure and share my experience by writing a review. Now, having established there is no bias here, let’s continue on our journey to the Middle East. Saj Mediterranean has a flare for the unique, and as I step inside, I find the decor bright and colorful, visually inviting. I then place my keys on the table to reserve my seating. The menu consists of many dishes familiar to the Americans, such as Hummus, Falafel, various salads, and freshly baked pita. I was surprised to find Za’atar folded pizza featured on the menu as if it were a prized ancient painting hanging on the wall, that found no difficulty commanding attention and popularity. Za'atar is a wonderfully aromatic Middle Eastern combination of spices comprised of sumac, oregano, and marjoram. It is so versatile it is used to flavor meat, poultry, veggies, rice, and breads. Rarely do I find such an authentic representation of this dish, creating a positive sign that the owner has authentically and with great pride, developed his eatery. By that fact alone, my interest was sparked and with that I felt compelled to speak with the owner, Ali, to learn of his background and the culinary influences he has brought to his restaurant. Ali was very welcoming and enthusiastically related the timeline of his business and interspersed with stories of his homeland, Lebanon. He was pleased by my knowledge and a bit surprised by my understanding of the culture and cuisine that I appreciate it much more. Just two years into his business, each table was filled with many hungry, very satisfied clientele that recognizes the finer culinary arts in a casual setting. Offering a menu with about twenty items including combination plates, and add-ons. allows for budget-conscious people to enjoy a delicious, meal of international flavors, for just under $10.00. Ali encouraged me to try the Za’atar Maa-Neesh and the Falafel, which I ordered with delight. Additionally, to fulfill my veggie requirement, I ordered the Bulgar-Parsley Salad, lightly dressed with olive oil, and known as ‘Tabbouleh Salad,’ which is as healthy as it is refreshing and the perfect compliment to my meal. Hardly able to breathe in anticipation of the array of flavors awaiting my pallet, I continue to study the menu in preparation for what I know will be a return dining experience. ‘Shawarma’ (picture); a succulent meat of either lamb (although not here), chicken or beef cooked on vertical cone grills which cooks evenly on all sides in a slow-cooking process, then carved and served in pita with hummus or tahini. My personal favorite is the beef Shawarma, but I think I have plenty of food for today. Many people confuse ‘Shawarma’ with ‘Gyros,’ but there is a huge difference in both flavor and preparation between them. In fact, Gyros and Shawarma aren’t even friendly. One might call them enemies. In fact, if the sandwiches could speak, it would they would say; “Coke or Pepsi?”. Pardon me, for I don’t mean to be rude, each preference is individual. For me, Shawarma is a comfort food eliciting the aromas of street food in years past... the excitement of outdoor markets with a myriad of delicious foods bombarding your senses.... no ‘food trucks’ in the Middle East! I return to my table with my food, deeply absorbed in the wafting aromas introducing themselves to my senses. The hot crunchy Falafel is aromatic and flavorful imbued with Ali’s secret combo of herbs and spices. As I bite into the pillowy light center, a warm feeling comes over me, perfect for the cold wintry weather. For a traditional Lebanese restaurant, it fitting that a tingly feeling in your throat would accentuate each spice as your taste buds acquaint themselves with the flavor. Every bite is delicious and needs no condiment which would only detract from the flavor. I am able to recognize the cumin which gives it a mildly extra spice not to be confused with spicy dishes like the popularly featured Spicy Hummus. The Za’atar Maa-Neesh was unlike any recipe familiar to me. The thin pita bread, which is savory and delicious with a melted array of cheese and folded similar to a folded pizza and cooked on a flat specialty grill strictly for the Maa-Neesh. Also, equally memorable, the Tabbouleh Salad a.k.a. Bulgar-Parsley Salad comprised of bulgar, tomato, garlic, onion, fresh parsley, infused with olive oil, mint leaves and lemon juice providing an excellent balance to my meal. For those who appreciate fine dining in a casual setting, Saj Mediterranean Grill speaks volumes for devotion to freshness, flavor, unique atmosphere and cultural charm. Moreover, the love for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine can be fulfilled right in the heart of Centennial, Colorado located minutes from Highlands Ranch and Littleton counties of Denver. "Random Thoughts" 2014 Writing I find I am in the most obscure places thinking about topics to write about. One of my favorite movies is Marley & Me, the main character's careers are writers. It occurred to me that the topics that were written about in the movie could all be topics I can write about as well. “Marley” gets in trouble for peeing on the floor, barking for long periods of time afraid of thunderstorms, “Marley” at the dog park. I counted all the articles written that covered the material of this insane life with this crazy but loveable dog. There was so much love and inspiration felt from the narration of the movie, specifically outlining the unconditional love given to an animal despite the misbehaving and suffering it puts on the human. A bond is formed and it cannot be broken. I mean, if you child misbehaves you don’t find other parents?! In the movie, Marley is a dog of the extreme with such behavioral issues, I really wanted Cesar Milan, the infamous dog trainer who has reality show and an award-winning book line, to step in and whoop this dog into shape. I am getting away from the point of my original thought which has little to do with the movie itself. Indeed, the inspiration for my own writing extended after gaining ideas to write about my own experiences, everything I’ve done no matter the draw to the readers. I am very good at self-expression. Simply write everything regardless of perception, and see what feedback can be gathered later on. What has been written may be invaluable to you and only needs a few professional tweaks to be considered for any stature. Proudest accomplishments
